something that occupies a front position.
The doctoral residency exists to teach students about the journey to becoming doctorates. Part of that goal is to provide an opportunity to network with faculty and other students.
Today, I proudly posted my drive into this massive beautiful campus in celebration of completing the first eight weeks and connecting with my cohort.
The other added benefit is getting to meet ALL members of the department and learning more about what we can expect in the weeks ahead. It was an inspiring day full of great insights, encouragement, engaging activities and later a reception where we will meet the Provost and the President. I have been quite impressed and I know I made the right decision in choosing this program.
[sidebar: While here though, I realized I missed the deadline to submit my TAP education and had to scramble to get it submitted (using the one and ONLY exception) to get things done. — I seem to keep missing important things about this process. Note to self: make suggestion to really spell out the process for new students].
In addition to gaining in-depth insight from the university, I also had the chance to meet other students who are on the same journey as me. Over lunch, I was encouraged to look at some useful tools to assist in my professional growth. Ultimately, these opportunities to collaborate will also assist me in the process of writing my dissertation.
